BA(Hons), Deakin,
Graduate Diploma in Education (Infants/Primary), UNE;
Additional Music Units: Research and application of Kodaly principles to classroom music,
Arrangement and performance for the school and classroom.
AMEB: Piano grade 6, Theory grade 5,
Registered Nurse.
Subjects taught
Piano for leisure and associated musicianship for all age groups.
Music programs for intellectually disabled people for personal development & recreation utilising various instruments, activities and music styles. Programs are designed to suit the requirements of the client following consultation with them and their carer(s). In response to clients’ needs individual sessions may include movement, vocal and instrumental activities using piano, percussion and recorded music.
Experience
13 years: developing and providing music programs for intellectually disabled adults and
children. This has included group and individual sessions.
10 years: teaching piano and associated musicianship.
3 years: infants & primary choir, relief school music teacher.
7 years: casual infants/primary teacher.
