NEMTA was founded in 2000 to meet the needs of instrumental and vocal teachers in the New England area, including ongoing teacher training, representation in schools, the provision of up-to-date information about taxation matters and relevant business practices, as well as the need for social interaction and the stimulation afforded by contact with people in the same profession.
